Iowa. Corn. The lady from Iowa has a problem. She’s got a loaded bowl in her left hand and she doesn’t have a light. But she’s in luck. The visitor from Missouri offers her the use of his lighter, and a friendship is born. The clouds part, a rainbow comes out, and Iowa is welcomed to enjoy the fruits of our Family Tree. The Bears in the background have been working their hardest but in spite of their best efforts, corn has sprung up in the pot field. The Iowa state bird, the Eastern Finch, is perched on top of the 15 and below on either side grows the Wild Rose, Iowa’s state flower. I really started channeling the “Iowa” thing. Even on the tie-dye, Karen used colors you’d find on an ear of corn. It was awesome and the folks in Ft. Dodge were great. Fifteen was definitely one of the best gatherings of the summer. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
